1. Briefing

A good consultation moment is key for every video project. Together we will first discuss what the core message of the video is and what the side issues? Who do you want to reach and on which channels? Do you want the video in multiple languages? How many formats do you need? Or do you need different versions of the same video? In this phase we usually also ask whether you may or may not have corporate guidelines when it comes to your branding.

2. Script

After this consultation moment, we pick up our pen and start on a solidly substantiated story. We start with a catchy intro. This is the first thing people are going to read, so it has to be very strong. The first sentences should trigger you to keep on watching. The middle is usually the part where the 'whats-in-it-for-me' becomes clear. What are the advantages of choosing this product or service? Is it an informative video also called an explainer video? Then this section forms an answer to the five W's (who, what, where, when and how). The ending, in turn, forms the powerful conclusion and an equally powerful call to action. This section is decisive. Is the viewer still not convinced? After seeing the outro, the doubts should be completely gone.

3. Moodboard

Before we start with the design part, it’s important to get an idea of the prefered style, look and feel. That’s why it’s our job to make several style suggestions to the client. This is to make sure that we have the same in mind. We create a moodboard and styleframes where different kind of illustration styles can be seen. But we also make a couple of color-, texture- pattern- and character suggestions. Besides the moodboard we also sent a number of reference videos for you to look at.

4. Storyboard

Before we get going with the storyboard, we thoroughly go through the corporate guidelines regarding your company's branding. We have a look at the assets (graphics, typography, use of color, font and illustration) and prepare everything necessary. The branding will partly determine the visual style of the video. We also copy the course of the script with the start-middle-end structure into the storyboard. A storyboard is a preview of what the video will look like. And usually consists of 10 to 30 slides depending on the length of the video. At this stage you will also get audio suggestions from us. Not only for the background music but we also discuss wich kind of voice over you would like.

5. Animation

Have you looked at the storyboard and do you really like it? Good! Then we will start animating. In this phase everything that was static before, will now come to life! The look and feel of the video has already been determined by the storyboard and it will be the guideline throughout the video. The rithm of the video, the transitions, the sound effects, the kind of animation style (smooth, ad hoc, illustrative, etc.) are all determined in this stage.

6. Derivatives

The animation has been delivered! Everyone happy :) So now it's time for the derivatives? You already requested this during our briefing. You wan't the same animation but by example in a different language or size. Maybe you only want to change a sentance or a word. Or you would like a version with and without subtitles.

Final product

“Whatever your message is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference. Video enhances your message by stimulating the senses.”
